WEST WARWICK, R.I. - Arpin Van Lines will host a free computer and e-waste recycling collection for office computer equipment on Friday, November 14. The collection will occur from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Arpin Van Lines Corporate Headquarters, 99 James P. Murphy Highway, West Warwick Industrial Park, West Warwick, R.I.

“Consumers have many options for recycling their home computers for free, but the business community has very few,” said David Arpin, President and CEO of Arpin Van Lines Inc. “Businesses cycle through electronic equipment much more rapidly than consumers and they generate more volume for disposal. We want to offer a solution that’s practical and helps keep e-waste out of the Central Landfill.”

Items eligible for recycling are CPUs, servers, network equipment, routers, telephones, radios, scanners, keyboards, monitors, laptops, mouse devices, laser printers, fax machines, cables and wires, cell phones, window unit air conditioners and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).

Companies that need to recycle more than 50 items may contact Arpin at 401-884-0321 and leave a voice message for a free pick up appointment.

Arpin is working with Cartridge World RI/Office Recycling Solutions and Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation to ensure that the recycled items will be disposed properly.

Since the beginning of 2008, Arpin Group, Inc., has sponsored several clean energy and carbon-reduction projects. The company has implemented a “Green Loan” program for Arpin employees, making it possible for them to borrow money for energy-saving home improvements and hybrid automobile purchases. Arpin has partnered with TerraPass, a consumer retailer and marketer of greenhouse gas reduction offsets.
