WICKFORD, R.I. (January 20, 2012): Box Wine Caddy, LLC, a Warwick-based family business that makes handcrafted boxed wine dispensers, will make its 2012 debut at Wickford Package Store for a wine tasting event specifically planned to showcase the company’s new product, the Box Wine Caddy.

Handcrafted in Rhode Island using locally sourced furniture-quality oak, the 17.75”x 9” Box Wine Caddy is designed to hold a 3- or 5-liter boxed wine bladder for convenient dispensing into a glass through its elevated tap. The Caddy can be placed anywhere on a countertop, bar or tabletop for serving vs. needing to be at the edge of a surface as is the case with all boxed wine cartons. The classic cabinet style design is suitable for any décor, and special orders can be taken to create a Caddy using any wood material desired.

The Box Wine Caddy will be featured at a free wine tasting event to be held on Friday, January 27, 2012 at Wickford Package Store, 41 West Main Street, Wickford from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase a Caddy onsite and enjoy white and red boxed wine selections courtesy of the liquor stores.

For these events, the caddy will be specially priced at $99.95 off the regular price of $119.95 (Rhode Island residents add 7% for sales tax).

Dan Hughes, a partner in Box Wine Caddy LLC, will be onsite to demonstrate how to use the product, discuss the trend and value in boxed wine, and to serve the wine samples. “There is not only a great economic benefit in consuming boxed wines, but vintners have greatly improved the taste and quality in recent years,” states Mr. Hughes. “Boxed wine bladders preserve wine longer than bottles by reducing oxidation and can keep wine fresh for up to four weeks or more. We are hoping that wine lovers will consider purchasing an elegant Caddy or two for entertaining or as a gift, and thought the best place to market this is right where they purchase the wine – at their local liquor store.”

The Box Wine Caddy can also be used with freezer gel packs for chilling wine bladders. For more information and inquiries, call by phone at 800-463-9919

Established in 2011, Box Wine Caddy LLC is a family-owned small business based in Warwick, Rhode Island. Wine lovers Bob and Jan McVay along with their son Dan and his wife Rachael Hughes started the business after they recognized the value in boxed wines, but found the current cardboard box designs unattractive. Bob designed the patented Box Wine Caddy with carpenter Bill Barth, who sources his oak through various New England lumber yards and handcrafts them in his shop in East Providence, RI. The entire McVay family processes and fulfills orders. The company plans to offer a variety of woods and create custom designed boxes and accessories.
